Giving Every Underdog a Chance
Ruff Start STX is a St. Croix-based dog rescue dedicated to giving the island’s most vulnerable dogs a second chance. From abandoned, injured, and critically ill dogs to bottle babies, seniors, and dogs who simply need extra time to learn to trust, Ruff Start STX provides the care, patience, and love they need to find their happily ever after. The rescue also works to keep pets with their families through free and affordable community clinics and essential resources.

Ruff Resort at Victoria House and Ruff Night – Hair of the Dog Bar were created with that mission at heart. All proceeds from the resort and bar support Ruff Start STX and its work helping animals in need. When you stay, dine, drink, or simply spend time with us, you’re helping give another dog a chance.
